Start a workout program and incorporate portion controls with my food intake.
Workout program: Country Heat by Beach Body
Portion Control: 21 day Fix with the FixAte cookbook, also from beachbody
Today was all about DOING it. I am behind the curve ball when it comes to being prepared, but that is ok, it isn’t going to stop me.
I was supposed to be prepared today with my workout routine and all of my meals prepped and ready for the week. But because I had a super busy weekend with family, I neglected to get the prepping completed.
But no worries, I still started with the workouts today.
I woke up this morning at 9:40am. I went to bed at 12:15am but didn’t not turn over to sleep until about 1:40am.
I was bad!
I got up and decided that even though I was not prepared AT ALL…I was still going to start my challenge!
So, I weighed myself and took all of my measurements.
Needless to say, that alone was depressing enough to send me back to bed with the covers thrown over and me hiding from the world. Forever!
I am going to share them here because I am going to be as transparent as I possibly can, with all of my fears, failures, embarrassing moments and numbers. Plus it helps to keep me accountable if I think that just ONE person may benefit somewhere down the road with what I am putting out here!
Weight: 220 pounds
Chest: 49 inches (across my boobs)
Belly: 47.5 in.
Waist: 42.5 in.
Thighs: R-24, L-24.5 (no clue why one is bigger than the other)
Arms: R-15, L-15
BMI: 31.5 ~ Obese
But, I pushed through.
I then open my beach Body challenge box, pulled out my Shakeology and my Country Heat program and decided to familiarize myself with the program. Of course, this is something I should have done Saturday or Sunday, but again, I was busy, so no go.
By the time I looked over everything, it was about 11:30am. Where does the time go? UGH!
I popped in the DVD and pushed played.
Two things off my checklist:
I showed up. Check!
I pushed play. Check!
Being that it was Day 1, I had to watch the moves and go along with them. Some of them were a little tricky but I am sure I will get the hang of it….eventually.
Once the 25 minutes of watching HOW to work out, I was FINALLY ready to start my workout.
It took 30 minutes to complete the workout.
The workout itself was pretty cool. Very easy to follow, even if my feet didn’t always cooperate. But hey, if you throw enough arms and shimmy in there, no one is looking at your feet. Right!? My knees started bothering me about halfway through the main workout. I had to do some modifications, but I did not quit!
I finished my workout at 12:35pm.
I then fixed my Shakeology for the day as my meal #1. (even though with the time it was, it should have been meal #3) Going to have to work on that!
Now it was time to figure out my meals and get my grocery list going.
I decided to watch a few of the Fundamentals on the meal prepping that is on the Beach Body On Demand channel that I so effortlessly added to my Roku. (love it)
Autumn went over several ideas to help make meal prepping a breeze. I was feeling so confident in myself, I grab my pen and paper and sat down to plan my meals and grocery list.
2 hours later, I was in tears.
I do not know why this hung me up so bad.
I was trying to figure out what container I needed for this, what recipe I needed to match the containers. I don’t think I am going to like Tempe.
The frustration mounted.
I then went to my good and trustworthy friend, Google, and asked for help. I wanted somewhere to tell me a list of meals that I need to eat with all the ingredients and the recipes along with the number of containers each will take.
Part of portion control is figuring out what meal plan bracket you will be in.
Now according to what they tell me, I should be eating 2100 calories a day, but I feel that is WAY too many for my goals and what I want to achieve, so I dropped down to the 1300 bracket or Plan A.
I FINALLY found a meal plan that I felt ok with trying it out. It is not REALLY what I want but then again, I do not want to spend anymore of my time figuring it all out right now either. Once I get the cookbook, it will help me with planning my meals.
So I made my grocery list and I am about to go shopping. Once that is complete, I will come home and prep all of my food for the next 5 days.
I did not make the best start today, but I did start.
I screwed up many times, but I kept going.
Things frustrated the heck out of me, but I did not give up.
Today is a win!
